Where are the birds found?

Bird distribution is usually represented by a range map or by simple points on a map.

Here are two maps that show the distribution of White-throated Sparrow across North America.

The first is a range map from our Online Bird Guide species account for White-throated Sparrow. This map is the result of many years of casual and scientific observations across the country.

Range maps are published in printed bird guides, too, and provide a good indication of where a species is to be found and what time of year it is there (see legend).

The second map represents the year-end summary of Project FeederWatch counts of White-throated Sparrows for the 2001-2002 count season. See Abundance for an explanation of Mean Group Size.
